Vacation Pictures

I posted a bunch of vacation pictures below...just learning how to organize the blog-thing...so hopefully this worked and they are in some sense of order. Hope everyone is having a fantastic 2008! M&M

Day Trip to St. John

Taxi Ride

Our "quick side trip" which turned into a 4 mile, uphill hike through the National Park to see the "petroglyphs."

Salt Pond

Red Hook Harbor where we caught the ferry.

Out and About at Our Hotel: Marriott Frenchman's Reef Resort

Our beach:

Voodoo Juice...available by the bucket only. :)

Cruise ships passed directly by our hotel window

Marc and his wonderful trivia skills won us a bottle of rum.

Iguanas

Jost Van Dyke, BVI

The only way to this beach was to swim in. On shore we visited the "Soggy Dollar Bar" where our cash was hung to dry after we paid for our "Painkillers." :) Marc didn't quite finish his and refused to leave it on shore.

Lunch on a Remote Island

We stopped one day on a small island where you can eat lunch only if you boat to the island. Beautiful water with a beautiful view!

Virgin Gordon, BVI: The Baths

We took a day trip all around the British Virgin Islands. The
"baths" were volcanic rock outgrowths where liquid hot magma once rose out of the ocean and created these shallow rocky pools of crystal clear water.

Vacation Pictures: From the Air

What a blessing! We were invited to take a helicopter ride all around the islands when we first got to St. Thomas. Here are some pictures from the air.

Jost Van Dyke, BVI

Thought I would post a picture from our latest vacation so that friends and family can simply log in to see what we were up to last week. Our favorite place by far was Jost Van Dyke, a small British Virgin Island. We didn't stay there, we were over in St. Thomas. But I think we realized, as we explored the islands, that our desire is to get more and more remote...more away from the hectic life we live sometimes. Thus...we discovered Jost Van Dyke. Other highlights include a helicopter ride around the islands, a trip to Virgin Gorda to see the "baths," Voodoo Juice, hiking and driving around St. John, and sleep...precious sleep...on the beach of course. :) More pictures coming soon...
