Today FELT like spring! A crisp 65 degrees outside, with a light breeze...Marc and I drove out of town to a state park and walked along the lakesides, getting about as close as we dared to the gators basking in the sun for warmth. It reminded us of Payne's Prairie in Gainesville, and we relished the familiarity we felt today. We miss Florida terribly. And so I am sharing some shots from today; pictures I took as I thought about the weather we were blessed with.

Winter Stillness
Stillness and Aliveness. We've just returned from Tahoe, California, where we were surrounded by snow, tons of snow. This was fun for me, since I have spent the past twenty years of my life living in either Florida or Texas...As we spent a few days out and around our resort, I reflected on the commonly referenced phrase: "the dead of winter." When I scanned the blankets of endless pure white around me however, nothing seemed "dead" at all. In fact, I felt as if most things around me were full of life, yet were simply sleeping. It is from this sentiment that I write tonight, thinking about Spring. I look forward to cultivating peacefulness as Spring arrives. I look forward to writing. I look forward to creativity, and friendship in creativity. And as the white soon melts away, I am excited to see life awaken around me again. Stay tuned...
